toshibaexthdd-sbThe Digital Products Division of Toshiba has announced the introduction of a reasonable backup and stylish 3.5” external HDD device, which boasts of offering dual connectivity in conjunction with features of robust software and around 1TB of capacity. Toshiba has entered in the external HDD market with the launch of its first 3.5” external HDD device.

The device, the company says, claims to provide dual connectivity with the help of high-speed USB 2.0 and eSATA ports. Thanks to the robust software application, there is no danger to the data protection. The software package cannot only be used for just backing up and restoring selected files, but, it also helps protect the whole system.

Michael Cassidy, director, accessories, HDD marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division, stated that we are geared up to expand our hard drive expertise into the 3.5-inch HDD a 2.5-inch external HDD business. We bring about the external hard drive to offer a user-friendly support option, which not just goes beyond its competition, but it also proves to be a stylish accessory for computer.

Compatible with both PC and Mac, the storage device is measured up to 6.6” x 6.8” x 1.34” and comes featured with power saving mode. As its reviews, the external HDD is also integrated with internal dampening system for shock protection.

The package comes included with a hard drive cradle stand, preloaded backup software and 4 ft. USB cable & AC adapter.

The 3.5? external HDD, along with 3-year standard limited warranty, comes with the price tag of around $129.99 MSRP for 640GB model and $159.99 MSRP for the 1TB model.

The debut of Toshiba with its 3.5” external HDD device from a 2.5-inch external HDD business seems to be good move as people are very conscious about their protection. It is when they have this kind of external hard drive, which not just keeps their whole data safe and sound, but also allows them easy and speedy connectivity.

I purchased this unit at BJ's two days ago and still have not been able to install it and get it to work on my Mac. I also sent a question to Toshiba via their website and have yet to receive a reply so this unit is going back! I went to BJ's again tonight for some other things and the Customer Service people were talking about how many had been returned and they just got them in! Too bad because this is the perfect size both in footprint and in storage capacity. If anyone has other suggestions for a replacement drive for me that will work with a Mac, I'm listening! Thanks.
