Toshiba DMF82XKU Photo Frame Reviews

Toshiba-DMF-82XKUThe Toshiba DMF 82XKU photo frame has revolutionized the way we view and store digital photos. It proclaims practical wireless features coupled together with user friendly interface. The two models released are the $180 8-inch frame and the $230 10-inch frame. The design is authentic and easy on the eye. The candy black frame and the smooth acrylic border are certainly worthwhile. But is the new Toshiba photo frame more of an eye candy and less of functionality.

Many user reviews revealed that the icons are a bit cumbersome and sluggish. Despite of that fact the internal 1GB memory can store a large amount of photos and the software can also play music. The photo frame also incorporates the use of external memory in terms of SD/SDHC, multi media cards, memory sticks, or XD-Picture cards. Being wireless the Toshiba Frame allows the user to access content online from many websites.

The users can create a FrameChannel account and websites like Facebook, Flickr, Picasa and even some news channels can be viewed. The bad news is that in spite of being Wi-Fi the frame cannot be displayed on a wall due to its AC adapter. The frame has a protruding back end which makes is highly awkward to display on walls, it is best suited for a table top. The touch sensitive controls add an extra benefit which allows you access to the menu and lets you browse through the gallery. However the onboard controls require immense amount of pressure.

A remote is included with the Toshiba frame making it slightly comfortable. On the other hand the application integrated in the system allows limited options and the cryptic icons makes it harder handle. The slide appearance and the music presentation are not up to the mark. A very annoying status indicator pops up while loading a new mode and the response time to any command is very times taking.

Once you figure out how to use the Toshiba DMF82XKU Photo Frame it becomes relatively familiar. The FrameChannel is easy to set up; the entire procedure to log in online was justified using the remote. The clock and the calendar view is undeniably a winning point. The auto orientation sensors enables the photos to be displayed either horizontally or vertically and at the same time the frame would be able to display combined content.

The file formats supported by the DMF82XKU are JPEG, TIFF and MBP. The audio formats such as WMA, MP3 and Mpeg videos would also be easy to play. Apart from the frames many disadvantages it provides a better experience than other products in its type, it definitely surpasses the likes of the Kodak and transcends frames.

the toshibia digital media frame model DMF82 XKU does not come with a owners manual…excuse me after paying excess of $170 they could not place an owners maual in the box? CHEAP. If you have landline computer access like I do…it does NOT download from the site they give you to go to online…it even kicks back saying site not available.
I will never buy something again that does not have an owners manual in it. Usually when you open something you do NOT want to wait and get an owners manual on line or via mail. So if I could dwnload it…78 pages worth….my ink???

    NO THANKS Toshibia.
