Toshiba intros dual remote Vardia DVRs

Toshiba has recently announced the release of their two latest Vardia-series DVRs, which are known as the 500GB-capacity RD-G503 and the 300GB RD-E303. Both the DVR are not just included with a DVD burner, but they are also claimed to be capable of recording video in MPEG-2 TS and in H.264/MPEG-4 AVC formats. As its reviews, each DVR comes in-cluded with a secondary remote, which brags of providing a limited number of buttons to carry out trouble-free tasks, as well as lets owners put throw the full-function remote asi-de.

Additionally, the Vardia DVRs is also able to upscale standard DVDs to near-HD quality, whereas an integrated ground and BS/110 degree CS digital tuner have been incorporated to accept TV programming. Dual-layer and rewritable DVDs are also capable to work well with the Vardia DVRs. Hooking up either DVR to a familiar Toshiba HDTV enables users to have control over either of the devices through a single remote.

The included video DAC comes in a 10-bit/148.5MHz unit and can give support to 1080i or 720p resolutions, whereas the simpler 10-bit/108MHz brags of supporting 480i /480p resolutions. Both Toshiba DVRs are slated to be rolled out on February 1st, with the price tag of up to $790 & $680 for the RD-G503 and RD-E303, respectively. No hint if when the DVRs will be rolled out in other markets.
