You can not expect a $649 laptop to be perfect, but the Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-EZ1001V offers you a good option for your daily e-mailing, listening to music. Although, the low price shows its effect on same places, the laptop supports a nice screen and optimum processing power to enable you to get through your daily work. The L300D-EZ1001V is ideal option as a second laptop for your office.

At this nominal price, nobody can expect a very high speed laptop. The laptop sports a 1.9GHz Athlon 64 X2 T-57 processor with 1GB of RAM. It is quite clear that if you are looking to heavy-duty multitasking and number-crunching on your laptop then L300D-EZ1001V is not meant for you at all. The laptop uses the video memory from the main RAM. So, it will not be a good option for those you are looking for playing online games.

The battery life of the L300D is about 2 hours, 15 minutes on a single charge which is less than what an average battery gives. The highest running time is given by Lenovo’s ThinkPad SL400, but it costs around $1223.

The laptop sports Windows Vista Home Basic which looks good on its reasonably bright 15.4-inch screen. The machine features a standard DVD burner, an Express card slot, 3 USB ports and a combination SD/Memory Stick card slot.

The design of the laptop rises above its price tag. Its 120GB hard drive can be pulled easily due to easy removal, and its protective cover has screws. The machine has really sweet stereo sound. Like other Toshiba laptops its speakers are good and better than that of the other average laptops.

Although, its design is better than what its price reflects, there is an occasional feeling of cheap parts. The key board layout is good but had very hard stroke that many typists won’t like. Likewise, mouse buttons are also a bit stiff. The Wi-Fi screen also feels chintzy.

The L300D-EZ1001V is not a high speed machine but it offers reasonable features that you will get for $649.
