Toshiba TG01 Reviews – world’s first mobile to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon platform

Toshiba so far has been a renowned name associated with television sets and laptops. But it seems Toshiba is planning to take a dip in the mobile market as it announces its TG01 mobile phone. Is Toshiba planning to grab the SmartPhone market? Probably so, as it announces its TG01 Smartphone, which is powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset and running Windows Mobile 6.1.
This 9.9 mm thick Smartphone from the house of Toshiba is sported with a 4.1 inch 800 x 480 widescreen VGA, a GUI that is specially designed for easy and single handed navigation. The standard HSDPA 3G, WiFi and GPS / AGPS connectivity options are some of the additional features of the mobile device. With 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, the Toshiba TG01 is sure to be the fastest smartphone in today’s market and until the market hits the second Snapdragon smartphone, as has been claimed by Qualcomm and Toshiba. The 512MB of the on-board storage of the device can be expanded using its microSDHC slot. The microSDHC slot is able to support cards up to capacity of 32GB, which you can take full advantage of for this allows TG01 to play DivX video. Included with Mobile Internet Explorer 6 with the support of Flash makes Toshiba TG01 the hottest highlight at the Mobile World Congress 2009.
5.10 x 2.80 x 0.38 inches in dimension, the TG01 includes additional applications such as Facebook and YouTube apps, Photo Album, Photo Editor and Pocket Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF viewer. Integrated with a 3.2 megapixel digital camera with maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 and Video Capture forms another attractive part of the mobile device. With a widescreen display of 4.1 inch, the mobile is considered to have the largest display as compared with other mobiles. It is also the world’s first mobile device to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform. So far two colors have been displayed – black and white, but there are no specific news about the pricing and availability of the mobile yet.
