Transcend JetFlash 220 reviews – the best bet

Let this small thing make you feel safe, make you breathe easier when you carry sensitive information. So it is better not to practice judging USB devices by their size, because the JetFlash 220 has some groundbreaking security abilities and technology. Surely, it will race ahead of the others regarding the security features a USB drive can have. So if someone is on a budget or concerns the price tag, a non-issue, he should go for the best bet.

JetFlash 220 is the only USB flash drive that came with almost all the security features that a portable USB stick can be packed with. It includes 256-bit AES hardware encryption with password. It also has an option for creating secure partitions, which can be used to demarcate public and private partitions separately, also letting the user to encrypt a file or folder the need arises. But above all, the most interesting part of the drive is its fingerprint authentication technology. The detection technology is working surprisingly well. It is very easy to set up with the System Setup Wizard guiding through the set up process. It also had an option for enabling the password authentication, entered from the keyboard following which both or only the fingerprint authentication can be enabled.

The optical finger print scanner works in a relatively simple principle. When the finger is placed in the sensor strip a charged couple device (CCD) generates an inverted image with darker areas indicating the ridge areas of the finger and the lighter areas representing less reflected areas i.e. the valleys between the ridges. Then the scanner processor, after catching a clear image of the finger print sample, it compares the pattern thereafter with the stored image. If the patterns of the two samples are matching then it will be considered as a valid entry in the drive’s security access. Otherwise, it will be rejected.

The fingerprint detection and authentication is very efficient and simple, one just has to slide the finger across the strip and it’s done. Unlike the Kingston sticks this drive doesn’t force the user to enter strong password combination. Rather it will be hardly possible for anyone unwanted to break into this unassuming little drive bypassing its security authentications. This USB flash drive also comes with some useful applications, which can ensure safe and secure browsing over the internet. The Website Auto Login tool for websites allows the user to login automatically to the registered sites. So overall, with such multitude of security tools and protection systems, this drive is a must have for smart users at a very reasonable price tag of Rs.4500 for 8GB.
