Transcend Launches JetFlash 620 USB Flash Drive
The old days of floppy drives are long gone and even CD’s are not used these days as a storage media. It is believed that USB’s will take over all forms of storage devices in the near future and considering this Transcend have launched their new 620 USB Flash Drive. This is more storage capacity then you get from a HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and that too in an affordable price.
As the features, this device has lot of functions and it allows users to create private sectors by using special Transcend software in the drive and protect them by using password. When a password protected area is created in the drive then nobody but the password creator can see those files and edit or delete them. This drive is also very flexible and allows users to change the passwords as many times as they want and increase and decrease the size of password protected sector whenever they want. This will ensure that their private data is not accessed by hackers, family members and co workers.
The simple USB’s are slow in data moving and it takes hours to transfer data from USB’s to other storage media. Transcend USB Flash Drive transfers data at a very high speed and its speed is quite comparable with hard disk drives. It transfers data at 32Mb/ sec and it can even go up to 40mb per second depending upon the receiving device’s performance. It also writes up to the speed of 18Mb per second which is seriously fast for a USB drive.
As the review, this USB flash drive gives storage facility from 8 GB to 32 GB which is enough for storing more than a million songs and pictures of different formats. You can also transfer your favorite movies in this drive and watch them whenever and wherever you want. The need of carrying DVD’s and replacing them while enjoying movies is eliminated by this drive. This device can also automatically lock the computer system to prevent unauthorized access. It is currently offered in three different storage capacities 8GB, 16 GB and 32 GB but functions are same in all. We can expect Transcend to launch 1 TB Flash Drives before the end of 2010.
