Transcend unveils StoreJet 18M portable hard drive in India

transcend-storejet-18m Transcend has launched its latest portable hard drive, StoreJet 18M under the StoreJet Portable Hard Drives series. The latest storage device is launched in India in line with company’s StoreJet 25M.

StoreJet 18M mini portable hard drive comes with shockproof and impressive features. It comes built-in with a new compact portable size. The Transcend hard drive compiles U.S. military drop-test standards such as MIL-STD-810F 516.5-Transit Drop. It features an exterior consisting silicon finishing, so you can easily protect the device from careless drops.

The launch of StoreJet 18M marks significance of Transcends StoreJet line of portable HDDs. The device will impress the customers with its tiny size, rich features as well as functionalities.

The 1.8? hard drive is available in two-tone contrast color scheme. It features a rugged design to fulfill the demands of the portable storage users. Backed by an advanced dual-stage shock-protection system, the hard drive showcases internal suspension technology, while featuring an extra-durable, vibration/impact-dampening silicone outer shell. The hard drive also incorporates Transcend’s StoreJet elite software pack. You don’t need any external power or battery to run the device because it is fully USB powered.

The device is compatible with USB 2.0 specs. It brings a handy ‘OneTouch’ auto-backup button. This feature ensures users to easily take backup and synchronize data with their notebook or desktop PC instantly. The StoreJet 18M extends a mammoth 120GB storage capacity. It is also integrated with LED which shows the power status and data transfer activity. It also boasts of providing hi-speed data transfer rates up to 480Mb/s.

Since the StoreJet 18M is weighed up to 120g and measured 98.7mm×65.7mm×17.45mm dimensions, it can be carried wherever you want. The handy device also comes featured with an RPM of 4200 and a buffer of 8MB. It gives support to ZIF PATA HDD.

The portable hard drive can be availed with the price tag of around Rs. 6600 with a 2 year warranty.

I have been with Transcend’s StoreJet drives since long time, but the only disadvantage was that it was not compatible with Windows 7. Now fortunately i got a news at http://www.techarena.in/news/10832-transcend%E2... stating that these hard drives are now compatible with Windows 7 as well, that is a great news man. I hope its gonna help many people.
