The ViewSonic FuHzion VX2265wm, priced at $349, is ViewSonic’s first display that offers a 120-Hz frame rate. Considering the fact that this is a desktop display, the frame rate of 120-Hz is a rarity in this business. Also, this display is also recommended to be used with Nvidia’s GeForce 3D Vision glasses. This model is a 22-inch display and promises to handle your viewing needs very effectively. This desktop display is of particular interest to those gamers who like to experience 3D gaming. The display is extremely effective in its motion-handling abilities. Users who care too much about connectivity will be left disappointed as this display does not feature a lot of connectivity ports and image adjustability options.
The 120-Hz frame rate technology is not new. A lot of HDTVs have been using it for along time now. Now even 240-Hz frame rate technology is about to make way in the markets. But 120-Hz frame rate technology in desktop displays is certainly a rare phenomenon. The 120-Hz technology doubles the refresh rate of 60 Hz used in desktop monitors in order to minimize motion blur while showing video. The VX2265wm features a glossy-black cabinet with an oval-shaped base. The stand is not very impressive and can hardly support the panel weight. The display offers forward and backward tilting options but no options for making height, swivel, and pivot adjustments. The display offers a native resolution of 1,680 by 1,050 pixels. It houses a couple of 2-watt speakers that offer decent sound. The display also features a blue backlit power button and an array of four function buttons that let you perform volume and brightness adjustments. The monitor however does not offer any image adjustability or image settings options.
In terms of connectivity, you get only a single dual-link DVI connector plus an audio input. The dual-link DVI port assists in 3D gaming. The display lacks support for HDMI, VGA, or USB. The performance of the display is superb with no tinting or oversaturation. It produces sharp and well defined colors. It offers a pixel response rate of 3 milliseconds which is good news for gamers. The company provides the device with a three-year warranty that takes care of the panel (backlighting), parts, and labor.
