Vodafone announces Prosumer Life @299 service plan for BlackBerry smartphones in India

Vodafone has announced the availability of a novel service plan dubbed as the Prosumer Life @299 for the BlackBerry smartphone users in India. The service, the company says, boasts of offering IM connectivity and unlimited email at a monthly rental of Rs 299.
The Prosumer service also claims to provide BlackBerry users with an unlimited access of up to 10 business or personal email accounts. It also claims to provide assorted (IMS) instant messaging services to users that boasts of keeping them hooked with colleagues and friends.
Harit Nagpal, marketing and new business director, Vodafone Essar, was quoted as say-ing, “The new service plan provides a innovative and highly economical option for customers who wish to stay connected primarily through e-mail and instant messaging while on the move.”
The BlackBerry users on Vodafone network can also use the service to view and manage plus they can also reply to messages that have come from their smartphones. In addition, the users are also allowed to view famous email attachment formats such as JPEG, Excel, Microsoft Word, JPEG as well as PowerPoint.
Ravinder Takkar, director, enterprise business, corporate and carriers, Vodafone Essar, was quoted as saying,“The new service plan aims at expanding the market for BlackBerry services in India and extending the opportunity beyond large corporate customers to small and medium enterprises and individuals.”
The unlimited access service allows users to make access to famous ISP email accounts for example; Google Mail and Yahoo! Mail. In addition, the service brags of delivering unlimited access to instant messaging services such as; Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger as well as BlackBerry Messenger.
The Prosumer Life @299 service can be availed on all BlackBerry smartphones such as; the BlackBerry Storm, BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Pearl provided through Vodafone. Devices built-in with the BlackBerry Connect software are also able to make use of this service.
