Wacom Touch Graphics Tablet & Wacom Bamboo Pen Reviews

wacom_bamboo_penWith the inception of Windows 7, multi touch devices have been swarming the market. The unique Wacom Bamboo Pen coupled together with the Touch Graphics Tablet makes an amazing harmony. The Touch Graphics Tablet is your normal tablet which requires a pen however it has also been integrated with multi touch technology which lets your fingers do the magic. The latest Wacom Touch graphics surpasses the functionality and performance of its predecessor the Intuos 4.

Measuring at 248 x 176 x 8.6mm in dimension the Bamboo Pen and Touch weighs at 360 grams. As the reviews, the smooth glossy black finish with the LED strip makes the Bamboo Pen very attractive. Wacom’s build quality is genuine but the only let down is the permanently connected USB wire to the tablet and the pen, which means if the pen gets faulty, the entire tablet needs to be sent in for repairs.

The interface however does not disappoint, simple selections from its properties application will enable the pen to be used for both right and left hand use. The four large Express Keys are set up at the top and the bottom which makes the interface simpler. When it comes to installation it’s very straightforward, drivers from Windows XP to Windows 7 as well as OSX are available. The pressure sensitivity level is 1024 which is less than the Intuos 4 pen at 2048.

Using the multi touch capabilities the tablet becomes more exciting and allows the user to do the work of a mouse with only a few finger touches. Pinching, rotating, dragging, left clicking, right clicking can all be done though your fingers. Sometimes the system may confuse a few touch commands so it’s much easier to use a mouse for that job. On the other hand using the Bamboo can prove to be more viable.

For only US$120 the Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch Graphics Tablet is a great catch. Digital art and photography can be much easier with the use of this device. Despite of the mediocre touch capability the combination of the Bamboo and the Tablet is undeniably worth its asking price. So if you are looking for a new way to interact with your PC than the Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch Graphics Tablet is highly recommended.
