Following the success of Windows Vista Service Pack 1, Microsoft is now about to release the second service pack of Windows Vista operating System in public tomorrow. It is actually a beta testing of Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 – as these are based on the same code. As its review, this beta-testing service pack will be made available to the general mass through a Customer Preview Program (CPP). However, the company has made a warning for all its casual users not to go for the beta download, but to wait for the official release of it. The beta testing was opened in October this year, but was limited to a small group of customers of Technology Adoption Program. This time it is going to be available for the general public through the Windows Update. However, the Disk Images and Stand Alone downloads will be available in both TechNet and MSDN on Thursday. But again there is a warning from the company itself for the casual users to stay away from the download and wait for the official release of it.
Featured with loads of improvements and enhancements now will be going under scanning to see if it really bring in any difference to Windows Vista Operating system. Included are some of the improvements that some of you might have already downloaded as a separate program such as, Search 4 and .Net Framework 3.5 SP1. Windows Vista SP2 also has features of Hyperviser (Hyper-V), which enables you to virtualize servers. Also, included are upgraded versions of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
This Windows Vista Service Pack 2 will be updating Vista and Windows Server 2008 as well. A support for Blu-ray and Bluetooth version 2.1 will be in addition. However, Microsoft is looking forward for the shipment of the service pack in the first half of next year, possibly in April’2009.
