Yahoo Pop Ranks Searches by Day, Month, and in Categories

Yahoo has been adding innovative features on their site, now they have released Yahoo Pop, a spanish language site, which ranks searches by day, month, and in categories. With the help of Yahoo Pop review, the users can design the site’s layout, categories and on the whole trust on generating their own “module” of popular searches. In addition, there is also availability of archived data for past days and months.

Yahoo Pop is a destination site, which has been tailored to convert total search data into news. And the appeal of visual results is fixed (AOL has tested with a rather associated product named Mgnet).
Yahoo has nothing said when the Yahoo Pop will be launched in the English U.S. market, however they are planning to experiment with the latest stuff in other nations before it is brought here by them.

But the question that still strikes my mind is, will this help? Yahoo has the second best search in the business, apart from their own yahoo branded-products, del.icio.us, flickr. They are not expected to beg to be bought. Yahoo’s top searches list and Google Trends are great if all you are on the lookout for is raw data on famous searches (almost certainly to make out what content to create on your site).

At the Web 2.0 Summit, Jerry Yang said, “I have to say that the best thing for Microsoft to do is to buy Yahoo!” According to finance.yahoo.com, they are at right around $10.86 per share. This is a long way from the $22 they were at when Microsoft offered $33.

Nicolas Scafuro, who heads over the Yahoo Search Team for Latin America, has said that his users wish to know what is all the rage, plus they prefer seeing it with pics. So, Yahoo Pop is the result of all that.
